One of the greatest influences and inspirations for me as an artist has been the work of Ralph Steadman.  For those who have never heard of the name, Ralph Steadman is a BRILLIANT illustrator from England who gained fame illustrating the work of the American journalist Hunter S. Thompson. Over the years I purchased several of Thompson’s books just because Steadman created illustrations for them.  Then I finally started to read them and I loved his journalistic voice. Thompson was a voice of truth, rebellion and twisted tales and called out the swine who run this country and who have been using it as their personal trough.   Sadly  Thompson took his life a few years ago because we sure could use his voice now, more than ever.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LATE, GREAT FATHER OF GONZO JOURNALISM, HUNTER S.
